I feel beyond blessed that I’m here, in this space, witnessing this social commentary:

“Timothée Chalamet is on a generational run as America’s premiere white boy, mostly as an inevitable result of Newton’s Fourth Law of Motion, namely that a white boy with motion stays in motion.”

I’m glad to have graced you with such a sentence 😂

It’s true—we do love it when you get grumpy online. It’s because you start saying that stuff we’re all thinking!

On the yassification of leftism: I think humans of all political persuasions have a weakness for people who are cool. We all wanna be cool or at least be close to, or associated with, someone who is cool.

(See: the left’s weakness for Obama. See also: the GOP being so pissed off that Bad Bunny is incredibly cool and not on their side.)

So that makes me wonder: how can we use that to our advantage? For one thing, we need to continue making fascism look so cringe that people want to run away from it.

Rama is unapologetically a strong woman with her own interests. She loves and supports her husband, but unlike most career politicians wives, she’s not stopping her own career anytime soon. I love that for her.

Where I’m from in NY they’re getting on Mamdani today for not doing something about the kids who threw SNOWBALLS at cops. Saying they were “attacked” . I couldn’t roll my eyes back far enough.

I’m feeling a lot of Bushwick hate in this piece and as a former resident it’s absolutely warranted 😝

If you never say “yassification” again it will be too soon. We should have never let that word escape containment.

Yes. The problem with trends is that they fall out of favor. Will people ride the wave when it isn't hip? Time will tell.

Maybe I'm showing my chronic catastrophizing tendencies here but I can't help but feel an impending sense of doom witnessing this behavior of collective gushing over the most benign attributes of a political public figure (like their clothing). I feel it contributes to the development of politician idol worship that turns optimistic voters into loyalists that ignore (or defend) any action worthy of criticism or correction. It's funny how the little things manipulate our psyche into liking a person and further reaffirming that positive view into a sense of trust (a la how Bill Clinton gained more votes after playing the sax on a TV show).
