I'm old enough to have seen the original Star Wars 7 times in the theater when it first debuted and have been a fan ever since. My younger brother has been insisting I watch Andor. You gave me the push I needed. Thanks!
agree about Andor and Rouge One. unfortunately, westerners are too soft and demoralized to ever fight back. the Huxley model of tyranny is much more effective at control than the Orwell version.
I've been thinking about this show constantly and finished my 3rd rewatch a couple months back. Your words really hit the nail on the head of how I feel about it and why I found it so affecting from a political standpoint (I also think from a narrative structure/character standpoint, it's equally facsinating and brilliant)
Very interesting read, I also like how the show portrays united fronts against fascism portrayed by the different actors that play a role in the rebellion from war-like militias like Saw, saboteurs and terrorist-like cells like Luthen's and Mon Mothma's parlamentarism.
Very good article, even though, being very different to you politically, I draw rather different conclusions regarding the (overt) political allegory in the show.

Dang this was incredibly well-written and inspiring article. I’m actually going to go watch the show now. Not gonna pay Disney for it though 😄
